The Effutu Constituency has emerged as the region’s leader in special voting participation, with 2,271 individuals registered to vote under the special category.

This is followed by Awutu Senya East, which has 1,298 special voters, while Ekumfi Constituency reports the smallest number, with just 118 security personnel listed.

Although no significant issues have arisen thus far, the distribution of special voters has sparked discussions about the potential for a substantial security presence on election day, set for December 7. Political analysts speculate that this could signal a heavy security deployment, similar to what was seen during last year’s Assembly elections.

Local journalist Kwabena Nyamekye has raised concerns about the potential for voter intimidation, recalling incidents of voter assault by military personnel during the previous election cycle. He cautioned that such occurrences should not be repeated.

Despite these concerns, voting at the Police Staff and Command College in Winneba has proceeded smoothly, with the process starting at 7:00 am without any reported incidents.
