Club officials in the Eastern Region, have been advised to desist from hooliganism at match venues, in order to bring sanity and respect to the game in the region.

Addressing Division Two Clubs, at a stakeholders meeting, Mr Abdul Lawal, Chairman of the Eastern Regional Football Association said, it does not auger well for football, if the clubs continue to fight at match venues to create tension.

He said, people have developed interest in football and are enjoying the game, so there was the need to exhibit discipline at match venues, in other to attract more fans and sponsorship to promote the game in the region.

The stakeholders meeting, was aimed at educating the club officials about the ongoing biometric registration of players to ensure that the clubs are able to meet the deadline of the Fifa connect, which ends on the 13th of February this year to enable the clubs register their players to enhance the commencement of the league in the region on time.

Other issues discussed at the meeting were, affiliation fees to be paid by clubs, referee fees and other matters concerning division two clubs for the next upcoming seasons.

Mr Lawal told the clubs that, the regional FA was going to sanction clubs who fail to conform to the rules and regulations of the FA in the upcoming football season.
