The Upper Yilo Krobo Development Committee in the upper part of the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region has paid a courtesy call on the Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey to congratulate her on appointment.

The call was also to put forward some significant development challenges confronting the upper part of the Yilo Krobo Municipality. Among the challenges put before the Minister are, the deplorable nature of the Klo-Agogo Market, the dilapidated Huhunya – Boti Falls to Klo-Agogo road and Sikabeng through Obawale to Klo-Agogo road, the stalled Water Extension Project in upper Yilo and called for the splitting of Yilo Krobo into two districts namely Upper Yilo and Lower Yilo Krobo districts. In an interview with Accra fm/CTV news reporter Apelete Kofi-Michel, the Assembly Man for Boti Electoral Area, Abraham Narh congratulating the Minister on her appointment noted that the Minister is aware of the aforementioned challenges confronting upper Yilo Krobo since she has been with them for the past years.

While commending the Minister for receiving them, he pledged their support to and appealed to her to address the challenges confronting the area.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey commended the committee for the visit. She urged the people of Krobo to remain united and work together for the development of Krobo.

Mrs. Awatey reiterated her commitment in working together with all and sundry devoid of politics to promote development in the region.

She assured the committee of her commitment to working assiduously to address the challenges enunciated by the committee to help promote development of the Krobo area and the Eastern region as a whole. The team presented beads to the Minister which symbolize love, peace, unity and togetherness.
