The Dutch Football Association have told Ghanaian youth midfielder Shadrach Eghan his work permit will not be extended if it expires in next February.

FC Twente acquired Eghan, 21, from Swedish side Malmo FF in 2013 in what has been described by the Royal Dutch Football Association as a fraudulent transfer.

The Eredivisie side can only secure another work permit for the former Ghana U20 triallist if his current contract is terminated and re-sign him as a non-EU player.

Twente are reluctant to cancel Eghan’s contract and offer him a new deal because of the huge wages involved.

Former England boss Steve McClaren signed the talented Akosombo-born winger.

Eghan has struggled for playing time this season at Twente as he has played just 124 minutes in the entire season.
