Duraplast Ya-Na

Duraplast Limited, manufacturer of uPVC and HPDE pipes, has donated two water tanks to the Gbewaa Palace at Yendi to store enough water to meet the needs of the palace and its visitors.

Each of the water tanks can contain 5,000 litres of water.

Officials of Duraplast Ltd presented the tanks to elders of the Gbewaa Palace at Yendi on Wednesday after paying a courtesy call on Ya-Na Mahama Abukari (II), Overlord of the Dagbon Traditional Area at his palace to pay homage to him and establish a relationship with the palace.

Mr Frank Abu Tawiah, Marketing Manager of Duraplast Ltd said the company was happy about the peace in Dagbon assuring that the company was ever ready to team up with the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) to address the water needs of the people in the Yendi Municipal Assembly.

He congratulated the Chiefs and people of Dagbon and all stakeholders, who worked to ensure peace in the area.

Ya-Na Abukari (II) said many houses including; some of the royal houses in the area did not have potable water appealing to the GWCL to double up its efforts at extending potable water to houses in the area to prevent water-borne diseases.

He expressed gratitude to Duraplast Ltd for the gesture saying it would go a long way to address the water needs of the palace.

Mr Stevens Ndebugri, Northern Regional Chief Manager of GWCL assured the Ya-Na that GWCL, as part of its corporate social responsibility, would extend potable water to all the royal houses at Yendi to solve their water needs.
