According to Dr. Amoako Baah, it could be that Dr. Wampah stepped down due to his son in-law’s criminal case or he was forced to do something which he couldn’t do for the government by printing additional money into the system which according to Dr. Amoako Baah stated would increase inflation but if that is not that case, then Dr. Wampah should come clear to explain without reasonable doubt.

Speaking with BREEZE 90.9 FM’s news caster, NANA KWAKU OWUSU YEBOAH, Dr. Amoako commented on why the 2nd deputy governor was appointed to be the governor instead of the 1st deputy governor he explained that it could be politically motivated if not favoritism.

“It could be that what compelled Dr. Wampah to resign could be the same reasons why, the president appointed the 2nd deputy instead of the 1st deputy because the 1st deputy could be in the same thoughts with Dr. Wampah not to do any wrong”.

“It is also a speculation because I don’t know why Dr. Wampah resigned” he added.
Dr Abdul-NashiruIssahaku has been appointed as the Governor of the Bank of Ghana to replace Dr Henry Kofi Wampah who retired last week.

Dr Issahaku prior to this new appointment was the second deputy governor of the central bank since July 2013. His appointment by President John Dramani Mahama was confirmed in a statement issued by the Communications Minister, Dr Edward Omane Boamah on Monday afternoon.

This followed a decision by Dr. Kofi Wampah to take an early retirement, four months before the end of his term in August 2016.

First Deputy Governor of the central bank Millison Narh was last week made to act as governor until the appointment of a substantive one.
