The preparatory committee is expected to be set up within ten days from the date of the issuance of the presidential decree.

The committee will be comprised of representatives of the civil society, presidential majority camp and the opposition, the decree by President Joseph Kabila noted.

The main tasks of the preparatory committee will include, among others, preparation of working documents, drafting the agenda to be submitted to the plenary for dialogue and determining all modalities for organization of the national dialogue.

The same committee will be expected to fix the number of participants from the civil society, presidential majority camp and the political opposition, and also fix the duration of the dialogue.

The committee will be assisted by an international facilitator, the presidential decree noted.

The national dialogue is expected to essentially focus on peaceful, inclusive and credible electoral process that meets international standards, and also on all issues related to the electoral process. Enditem
