The commander of Sokola 2 operations in South Kivu, General Esperant Masudi, said the Congolese army had managed to recapture four localities initially occupied by a coalition of Raia Mutomboki, Nyatura and Mai Mai militia.

On May 26, 2016, FARDC launched operations to track down the three armed groups in their strongholds of Chifunzi, Chaminunu, Butale and Mule.

“The fighters of these armed groups who were dislodged from the localities fled. FARDC will continue searching for them in Masisi territory within North Kivu province,” Masudi concluded. Enditem
