MOGO Dance Party - Let's dance people!

There was spontaneous applause and excitement from assembly members when Mr. Gordon Asubonteng, the Municipal Chief Executive for Dormaa Central Municipality, announced that a cow would be slaughtered and used to prepare a sumptuous meal for them.MOGO Dance Party - Let's dance people!

This would be in appreciation of their sacrifices for the Assembly this year.

Mr. Asubonteng said each year, in recognition of their efforts, the Assembly presents the assembly members with gifts during the Christmas but this year, however, they intended to change the trend by ?killing a big cow? and pledged to give personal gift to them as well.

He said this at the general assembly meeting held in Dormaa ? Ahenkro.

He mentioned the street light project along the Dormaa – Ahenkro Kyeremasu road, construction of the 30-bed capacity dormitory for the Midwifery Training School, construction of one No. 3-unit classroom block with office and store at Tronang for the Tronang Local Assembly Primary School as some of the development projects undertaken to enhance the progress of the municipality and its neighbouring communities.

Mr Asubonteng appealed to the assembly members to ensure continous education of the people about approved lorry fares as the radio stations were not sustaining that education that has culminated commercial drivers charging unapproved fares much to the displeasure of the people.

Mr. Isaac Nsiah Edwards, the Municipal Director of Education, said there were plans to embark on a project to reduce examination malpractices in the municipality.

He said in the Salvation Army Senior High School, for instance, two papers were alleged to have been cancelled during the last West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination.

Mr Edwards said the project would consider a proposal to declare Dormaa Central Municipality zero tolerance for examination malpractices to help reduce examination irregularities.

He appealed to assembly members to check the habit of defecation in classrooms.
