The flag-bearer of the Progressive People?s Party, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has told residents of the Central region not to vote President Mahama simply because he succeeded the late President John Mills who hailed from the region.

Dr. Nduom argued that the December polls must be won on competence and not out of sympathy. The PPP flag-bearer stated that he was the most competent amongst the candidates vying for the presidency.

Dr. Nduom who was addressing the Chiefs and people of the Oguaa Traditional Area, at this year’s Fetu Afahye (festival) added that if not for anything, the people of the region must judge him by the quantum of investment he had made in the region.

Whilst insisting that he did not want to appear as promoting tribal politics, Dr. Nduom, said it was only fair that as a native of the region, he should have massive support of the people just as the late president was accorded in the 2008 elections.

According to Joy FM?s Central regional correspondent, Richard Kojo Nyarko, the PPP flag bearer, requested for a piece land to be made available to him so he could construct a community center for the region as part of his social responsibility.
