Dickson tasks monarchs, council bosses on security for corps members

KAIAMA – Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State, yesterday, urged traditional rulers and local government area chairmen in the state to provide adequate security for National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, members serving in their domain.

Dickson made the appeal at Kaiama, headquarters of Kaiama Local Government Area, during the closing ceremony of 2012 batch ‘A’ corps members in the state. He also charged royal fathers and council chairmen to provide welfare needs of the corps members in their villages.

Represented by Secretary to the State Government, Prof Edmond Allison-Oguru, the governor pleaded with employers of labour not to reject corps members posted to their establishments.

Lauding the corps members posted to the state for exhibiting high sense of discipline and resilience, he urged them to shun violence and put in their best in their areas of primary assignment.
