The governor who was represented by the Secretary to the state Government(SSG) Mr Oseloka Obaze while underlining the four pillars of the Obiano administration and the various sectoral enablers that would drive the economic development platform, commended the team for their sustained support to state. He expressed the hope that the commitment would continue, while acknowledging the benefits of the ANSG-DFID partnership and the overall interface with donors and development partners.

Obaze disclosed that Gov. Obiano has restructured the state’s module for engaging with the donor community to ensure that each donor partner had an officer to interface with. He therefore thanked the team for their recent assessment of the state government’s monitoring and evaluation capability, which he said would help officials clear up the pervasive mix-up of monitoring and evaluation for inspection or supervision of projects.

DFID has over the years supported state government in its development planning, streamlining and harnessing of treasury bank accounts, improvement of Internally Generated Revenue(IGR), support for human resource management development and fiscal forecasting.

Obiano had visited DFID in Abuja immediately after the Nov 16,2013 elections to exchange views on areas of future collaboration with the state.
