The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) and the People’s National Convention (PNC) have joined forces to contest the parliamentary election in this year’s general polls.

Either party will, therefore, campaign and vote for parliamentary candidates of the other in specific constituencies across the country.

A statement co-signed by Dr Edward Nasigrie Mahama, presidential candidate of the PNC; Mr Bernard Mornah, National Chairman of the PNC; Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, presidential candidate of the PPP; and Nii Allotey Brew-Hammond, National Chairman of the PPP, said the PPP would, thus, campaign, support, and vote for the PNC’s parliamentary candidates in the following constituencies: Nadowli/Kaleo, Sissala East, Builsa South, Bolga Central, Talensi, and Walewale.

The PNC will, in turn, campaign, support and vote for the PPP parliamentary candidates in Wa East, Bongo, Wulensi, Tempane, Wa Central, and Salaga North.

The two parties said: “Ghana needs PPP and PNC members in parliament to advocate for needed changes to the 1992 constitution, ensure that the health, social welfare, and employment needs of the majority of our people become priorities and affirm the multi-party nature of our democracy. We urge the good people of Ghana who are valid voters to vote massively for PPP and PNC candidates on 7 December 2016.”
