David Duncan

David Duncan has shockingly been sacked as the coach of Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak after just one year in charge, Ghana?s leading football news outfit, GHANAsoccernet.com has exclusively reported.

The ex-Ashantigold trainer, who is widely regarded as the figure to revive the Accra-based giants, was handed hisdismissal letter on Friday morning.

The decision, which was taken solely by the board chairman of the club Togbe Afede, is likely to divide the front of the Phobians and negatively affect their recent revival, GHANAsoccernet.com reported.

Duncan, who has been in charge of the club since November last year, was told to look elsewhere in a risky decision by the Phobians.

The news will come as a massive surprise to their teeming fans of Hearts who have seen some steady progress under the manager who has been credited for the revival of the club.

But clashes between Togbe Afede and Duncan over the selection of players particularly overweight striker Gilbert Fiamenyo looks to have led to the the sacking of the manager.

The decision comes just 24 hoursbefore the Phobianstake on Amidaus in Tema in this weekend?s league matchesand could affect their performance.

Assistant coach Ben Adjei is expected to take charge of the team for the match to be played in Tema.
