Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and his former fiancée Sarah Jane Ramos have called off their engagement just one month before their scheduled wedding in Lake Como, Italy, with both parties describing the decision as mutual and asking for privacy.
The couple sent an email to approximately 250 guests who had been invited to the April 10 destination wedding. “It is with heavy hearts that we privately inform our attendees that we have made the very difficult decision to cancel our wedding,” the message read. “We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and we welcome your prayers.”
A representative for Ramos said the split was not marked by any dramatic falling-out. “There wasn’t any rockiness in the lead up, and there was no big argument or blow up,” the rep told People. “It was a mutual decision.”
Prescott and Ramos went public as a couple in 2023, and he proposed in October 2024. Their first daughter, Margaret Jane Rose, was born in February 2024, and their second daughter, Aurora Rayne, arrived in May 2025.
Ramos moved to address a widely circulated claim that a prenuptial agreement was behind the split, saying directly: “This had nothing to do with a prenup. I hope we can put that rumor to rest now.” TMZ Sports also reported that sources dismissed the prenup story, noting that Ramos had often told friends she was fully committed to making the marriage work.
Looking ahead, Ramos’s representative said both parents remain focused on their daughters. “They love their girls, and they’re committed to raising their children together in the most loving and positive way,” the statement added.
Prescott, 32, is the highest-paid player in National Football League (NFL) history, having signed a four-year, $240 million contract extension with the Cowboys. He is currently in the offseason ahead of spring training.
