The Convention Peoples Party has indicated that its intended delegates congress scheduled for Saturday will come on despite the National Youth Organizer, Murtala Mohammed’s stiff opposition.

In a memo copied to the CPP Council of Elders, the embattled CPP National Youth Organizer described the upcoming congress as unconstitutional.

He also claimed holding the congress could cause more confusion in the party.

But Nii Armah Akomfrah, the CPP Communications Director said no amount of threat would stop the congress.

He told Citi News that plans have been far advanced to hold a successful congress to elect the CPP Flag bearer for the December general elections.

“Our preparations are far advanced and everything that we need to ensure that the logistics are in place to get buses faring people from the 10 regions to Sekondi, the feeding arrangement, accommodation, security arrangement and everything is underway.”

He stressed, “The team that successfully gave us the congress in September is the same team which is going to give us even more successful congress this time round on Saturday; so what we are quite confident is that all the plans that we have put in place the operation is underway for a successful congress on Saturday and what we know is that the day is going to be a huge spectacle and after that politics as we know in this country will change.”
