She explained that the initiative was one of the steps aimed at bringing together all Nkrumahists under one unity party to form a formidable force to wrest power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2016 to ensure the continuation of Kwame Nkrumah?s vision.

The CPP chairperson was addressing the Central Regional Delegates? Congress in Cape Coast during which new officers of the party for the Region were elected.

?Our doors are widely opened and we are saying come back home that is why we have welcomed a decision by some officials of the PPP to begin dialogue with us. We are planning to talk unity on the ground and make the party more attractive?. She declared.

Ms. Samia further stated that negotiations were also far advanced between the CPP and the People?s National Convention (PNC), and that, the two political parties may be fully merged into one political party in 2017.

She however rubbished rumours that the political alliance with other political parties would mean that some core ideologies of the CPP would be lost, adding that, ?the CPP will not compromise on its fortunes so do not be discouraged, the CPP exist to accomplish the uncompleted mission of Kwame Nkrumah?.

Dr. Abu Sakkara, the 2012 Presidential Candidate of the party said the NDC and the NPP were growing at the expense of the CPP and asked the party faithful to work extra hard to grow in strength to be able to win power in 2016.

He charged the elected officers to work hard in dignity and help the party to win more seats in the Region and the nation at large.

Mr. Samuel Yaw Asamoah pulled 97 votes to beat his only contender Samuel Akyen Konduah, who got 36 votes to win the Regional Chairman position.

Mr. Godfred Cudjoe and Mr. Benjamin Bassaw Hammond were elected Regional organizer and youth organizer respectively, whiles Mr. Ato Maclean and Ms Ophelia Boatemaa Doudo were elected Regional secretary and women?s organizer respectively.

The elected Regional Chairman thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him, and pledged to do all he could to ensure that the party wins some seats in the Region.
