Apostle Dr Stephen Owusu Jackson, Chairman of the Christian Praise International Centre (CPIC), has called on the government to continue in its effort to strengthen and maintain peace in the country.

He urged the government to build the capacity of all the security personnel to enable them respond effectively to emergencies.
Apostle Jackson made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Sunday.

He said Ghana has an international reputation as one of the most peaceful countries in the world and it is important for government to ensure that peace and security is maintained.

‘I am calling on the government not to wait until elections before they begin to campaign for peace’, he said adding that it should be a thing done consistently to prevent any chaotic situation from cropping up.

The call comes in the wake of the assassination of investigative journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale, Mrs Josephine Asante, Public Relations Officer of Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority as well as the recent kidnappings in the Western Region.

Apostle Jackson called for the disbandment of all political vigilantisms to ensure peace and security in the country at all times.

He congratulated the sons and daughters of Dagbon on their role and support in the enskinment of Yaa Na, Abukari Mahama II as the Overlord of Dagbon.

The Chairman of the CPIC also praised them for their patience in the settlement of the chieftaincy dispute that has dragged on in the area since 2002.

He expressed the hope that with the enskinment of the Yaa Na, the people would now enjoy the development they yearned for.
