Elder Samuel Nsowaah-Gyan, Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira West, has donated quantities of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and thermometers to health facilities to fight the covid-19 pandemic.
Speaking at the ceremony, Elder Nsowaah-Gyan, charged the District Security Committee and leadership of the District Health Directorate to strengthen surveillance and effectively monitor the movement of people to prevent the spread of the virus in the communities.
“Use the thermometers to check any intruder who wants to enter the District once the Central Region has recorded the first case of the corona virus,” the MP stressed.
Elder Nsowaah-Gyan said the coronavirus was causing global panic and asked the people in communities to strictly obey the social distancing and other preventive protocols to help check its spread in the District.
Mr. Seth Brako, District Director of Health Services, congratulated the MP for making available quantities of PPEs and thermometers for the Health Directorate.
He said that Ghana and the whole world were facing severe danger of the coronavirus and that was why the Government had brought directives for citizens to follow to help control the spread of the disease.
