The Juaso Circuit Court, presided over by Mr. Fredrick Tetteh, has sentenced an ex-convict to 72 months imprisonment in hard labour for stealing a ram. Evans Kwame Agbenu, who had previously served time in prison over a similar offence, pleaded guilty to the crime.

Police Detective Chief Inspector Birikorang Peasah, said the offence was committed on May 31, at about 1600 hours at Odumase in the Asante-Akim Central Municipality.

Razak Abdulai, the owner of the ram, was informed by a witness in the case about the theft of the animal and traced it to the house of the convict. Agbenu had already slaughtered it and a formal report was subsequently made to the police.
