A 33- year- old securityman at Sowodadzemu Roman Catholic SHS, near Mpataba in Jomoro District was on Friday granted GH? 5,000.00 bail with one surety by Half-Assini Magistrate Court in the Western Region, for causing harm.
Mr Ashiable Korku, pleaded guilty to the charge and the court presided over by Mr Abdul Majid Illiasu convicted him, but deferred sentencing to April 24.
Police Sergeant Isaac Ebo Otoo, presenting the facts said complainant in the case, Mr Emmanuel Abban, a television repairer and the accused are both residents of Sowodadzemu.
He said about 2200 hours on April 7, the complaint visited a friend in his house where the accused came to buy sachets of Gold dry Gin and an egg from the friend’s wife, Auntie Abbah.
The prosecutor said no sooner had the accused left than he returned with torchlight that he left his key behind and began searching for it.
He said in the course, the torch light rays was flashed on the faces of complainant and other residents so Mr Abban asked the accused to put the torch light off as there is electricity light at the place but Korku did not yield to the request.
According to the prosecutor this resulted in a confrontation between the accused and complainant and in the process Mr Abban slapped Korku and pushed him down.
He said accused got up and grabbed the complainant’s left arm and bit off about two millimetres long of his middle figure which made him bleed profusely.
Sergeant Otoo said the complainant was rushed to Samenye Health Centre where he was treated and discharged, after which he made a report to Mpataba Police who issued him Police Medical Form to attend Hospital.

He said later complainant and the friend (a witness in the case) apprehended the accused to Mpataba Police Station where he admitted offence in his caution statement and after investigation he was charged with the offence.
