Security was tight at the court as the press was locked out of the court session in what security sources said was aimed at protecting judicial and security officers who handled the matter.

Efforts to get a comment from Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga were futile.

However, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, confirmed that Mukulu had been charged in court.

?They were charged with the offences which he was extradited for and this included the murders of Sheikh Muwaya Dactoor, Namayingo LC 3 Chairman Tito Okware and 2 police officers who were from guarding the IGG?s home,? Onyango said.

Onyango said that they had arrested some suspects who had confessed that they received instruction from Mukulu to carry out the attacks and that charges which the others faced had been amended.

Onyango said that other charges which relate to the Kampala bombings in the late 90 and attack on schools would be brought later against the ADF leader once the files were complete.

Mukulu together with his two accomplices were extradited into the country after being arrested in Tanzania in April this year and were being held at Nalufenya police station in Jinja which is a more secure facility.

It was Mukulu who first arrived two weeks ago while his accomplices were brought in on Thursday last week and paraded before the media on Sunday.
