Nigeria’s military will hold a conference to appraise its operational activities undertaken in the second and third quarters, a spokesperson said Friday.

Army Spokesman Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman said the “Chief of Army Staff Conference,” which will be held between Sept. 17 and Sept. 20 in Abuja, will also enable the army to make projections for the fourth quarter of the year.

He added that during the four-day meeting, far reaching decisions that would affect the service would be taken.

The spokesman added that presentations on training and operations, logistics, administration and other activities in the Army as captured in its 2017 forecast would be made.

Nigeria is currently grappling with security challenges, one of which is the insurgency of Boko Haram, which seeks to enshrine the Islamic Sharia law in the constitution. Enditem
