Atwima-Mponua District

The people of three communities in the Atwima-Mponua District, namely, Gyereso, Pasoro and Aboabo-Kadongo, have appealed for assistance for the completion self-help initiated projects left abandoned for five years.
Atwima-Mponua DistrictMr Richard Kuma-Bonsie, Assemblyman for the Gyereso electoral area, who made the appeal on behalf of the three communities, said the teachers? and nursing quarters constructed at Gyereso to accommodate teachers and health staff, have reached window levels.
This came to light when reporters under the GNA /STAR-Ghana Project visited the communities.
The aim of the project is to access how government funds are used to benefit deprived communities, and to ensure local governance, accountability and transparency.
At Pasoro, a six-unit classroom block, financed by the GET-Fund is yet to be fixed with doors and windows, the floors have also not been cemented, a situation compelling school children to study under trees.
The Aboabo-Kadongo community, had through special fund- raising and levies constructed a six-unit classroom block which only needs some quantity of cement for plastering, to complete it.
Mr Kuma-Bonsie said cocoa and other foodstuffs had been locked up in the Tano-Dumase Electoral area, due to the deplorable state of the Tano-Dumase-Gyereso Feeder road, and appealed to the Assembly to help fix it.
