Andrews Arthur alias Kofi, who also allegedly attempted to rob the junior high school two victim, pleaded not guilty to the charges of defilement and attempted robbery and would reappear on Tuesday January 26.
Prosecuting, Police Inspector Samuel Reynolds Amoako told the court that the victim lives with her mother at Yamoransa town while Arthur sells and sleeps at Yamoransa market.

On Tuesday December 30, 2014 at about 1900 hours, the victim went to dump refuse at a dump site but after emptying her bin, Arthur who was passing by, held her dress behind her neck causing her dustbin together with the rug she used to carry the refuse, to drop on the ground.

Arthur allegedly pointed a knife at the victim demanding all the money she had on her but when she refused, he dragged her into a nearby bush, pushed her on the ground, and had sexual intercourse with her.

After the act, Arthur again demanded money from the victim and fearing she would be harmed with the knife, she asked him to untie her rug and he took GH₡ 50 from it.

The girl ran home and revealed her ordeal to her mother.

Her mother rushed her to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for treatment while some townsfolks at Yamoransa including an uncle of the victim, arrested the accused and reported the case to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit of Ghana Police Service in Cape Coast.
