There was lot to eat, drink and dance to by employees of Coconut Grove Hotel at Elmina and their families as well as loved ones when the hotel organised a get-together to honour hardworking staff over the weekend.

The annual get-together which is to motivate staff to work harder, this year attracted hundreds of people who enjoyed themselves to variety of meals and drinks and also danced into the late hours of the night.

Addressing the ecstatic gathering at the event, the General Manager of the hotel, Mr. John Yeboah Mensah, indicated that the employees were being rewarded for their hard work for helping the hotel achieve its target for 2012.

According to him, all award winners were voted for by the 145 employees from the hotel and Bridge House near the Elmina Castle, adding that 11 employees instead of 12 who emerged winners monthly were eligible for employee of the year award because one resigned from work and was automatically disqualified.

He advised the employees to continue to work hard in order to win more awards next year promising mouth-watering packages for next year?s winners.

At the end of the event, the best worker for the month of October, Mr. Musa Dauda, who works as a steward in the Kitchen Department, won the second-runner up for best employee for 2012.

He received a GH?100 Gold Coast Securities investment, television set, blender and a certificate as his prize.

Mr. Kojo Sampson of the Housekeeping Department was also adjudged the first-runner up and received a GH?100 Gold Coast Securities investment, microwave, rice cooker and a certificate.

Ms. Vida Awuakye was adjudged the overall best employee for 2012 and received a GH? 400 Gold Coast Securities investment, flat iron, double decker refrigerator and a certificate.
