Fired-up Hearts coach Duncan ready to dethrone Kotoko as champions of Ghana

Coach David Duncan wants to reclaim the Premier League trophy for Hearts of Oak by dethroning rivals Asante Kotoko as champions in the coming season.

The Phobians have not tasted success since their last top flight title four years ago.

Hearts have struggled over the years to mount serious challenges for the Premier League title.

During this period of below-par performance of the former African champions, relative newcomers Aduana Stars and Berekum Chelsea have won the Premier League.

While rivals Asante Kotoko have secured back-t0-back success ? extending their record of most won top flight titles in the process.

But coach David Duncan is ready to end Hearts Premier League title drought by building on the strong finish of the side last season following a disastrous start.

?Well for me ending the club?s four-year title drought is my first shot next season,? Duncan told Radio XYZ.

?Nothing short of winning the title or reclaiming it after losing out for over four seasons

?The fans have been waiting all this while and I think that nothing else will compensate the long suffering of the fans for not winning it, but having said that I think it should go along with support from all angles and the stakeholders and then we can all settle down to how we achieve that having laid a foundation with everybody supplying his joint.?

Hearts have now fallen further behind in their pursuit to knock Kotoko off their perch as the most successful club in the domestic league.

The Phobians are on 20 top flight titles ? two behind their arch rivals Asante Kotoko ahead of the start of the new season.
