Berekum Chelsea striker Emmanuel Clottey will join Tunisian club Esperence subject to passing a medical and agreeing personal terms, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 25-year-old will travel to Tunisia on Monday to finalize the deal after both clubs agreed to a $1.5m transfer fee.

As a result, Clottey was dropped from the Ghana national team billed to play Liberia in an international friendly in Monrovia on Tuesday.

The ex Great Olympics hitman is currently the leading goal scorer in the ongoing Caf Champions League with 13 goals.

He will however be unable to extend his tally after the final group game against TP Mazembe on September 16 as Chelsea is already eliminated from the competition.

Clottey first rose to prominence in 2007 after scoring 14 goals to win the Goal King award in the Ghana Premier League.

A subsequent move to Austrian club Wacker Innsbruck however proved a major step back in his career.

He later returned to the Ghanaian top flight in 2009 following another failed stint at Danish club Odense Boldklub.

It was however not until he joined Berekum Chelsea in 2010 that he rediscovered his form that has now earned him a big money move to Esperance.
