Reverend Daniel Oduro,. Agona Swedru District Pastor of the Assemblies of God Church, has advocated for the regulation of the licenses of Reverend Ministers, to help weed out fake pastors.

According to Rev Oduro, the rate at which these fake pastors were dragging the name of the gospel into disrepute was rather alarming, and said it needed to be checked to safeguard the image of gospel.

Rev Oduro made the call when he addressed the five-day Easter Convention, organized by the Swedru District branch of the Church at Agona Swedru.

The Convention which had ?Unity in the Spirit,? as its theme, was attended by members of the 30 branches which constitute the Agona Swedru District.

The District Pastor criticized pastors who give false prophesies, especially to women.

Rev Oduro said the regulation of license by government and the Christian Council, would help determine who qualifies to be a pastor, to reduce the incidence of swindling in the name of God.

The District Pastor said many Ghanaians are prepared to join churches to worship their Creator, but the activities of some fake pastors have scared them.

Rev Adumuah Bossman Baiden, Agona Swedru District Treasuer of the Church, kicked against the proposed decision of government to collect taxes from churches as announced by the Finance Minister.

Rev Nicholas Boison, Agona Nyakrom District Pastor, in a sermon, said the death of Jesus Christ on the Cross has liberated mankind from self ?enslavement, and urged Christians to depart from evil.

He called on Christians to guard against massive corruption that had bedeviled the country.

Rev Boison cautioned pastors against adultery, because it cast a bad slur on Christendom.

At the Swedru Vocational Training Institute, Reverend Ababu, Founder and Leader of Christ Ministries International Church, urged the youth not to use Easter to indulge in alcoholism, drug abuse and social vices that may ruin their lives.

He called on Christians to use the Resurrection of Jesus Christ to intensify evangelism to win more souls before the second coming of Jesus. GNA
