Christmas Babies

MTN Foundation has taken another giant step by presenting over one hundred and sixty (160) pieces of Yellow Hampers to babies being delivered on the Christmas day in the country.

The items in the “MTN Yellow Hampers” include: assorted baby diapers, baby wipes, and baby products, baby clothing, baby toiletries and toys among others.

This year, the distribution was being carried out at Tema General Hospital, Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital, Tamale Regional Hospital and the Effia Nkwanta Government Hospital.

Equitably, 40 pieces of hampers were distributed to each hospital to be given to the nursing mothers.

Presenting the items to the nursing mothers at Tema General Hospital, the Acting Corporate Services Executive Mrs. Georgina Asare Fiagbenu, hinted that the benevolent exercise they are embarking on this year commemorate the fifth edition of an annual event the company organizes to celebrate babies born on such special days.

This she said, this year’s event is a very unique one because it also has coincided with MTN Foundation’s 10th anniversary.

According to her, MTN as a company they will continue to show love to these Christmas born babies in order to ensure that are not left out during the yuletide.

“We the MTN staff are here to welcome Christmas babies to a Bright Bold New Digital world. We are giving these some of hampers to mothers who delivered on December 24, 25 and 26,” she remarked.

This she said, MTN Foundation chose Tema General Hospital simply because the company has in the recent times has started building a strong relationship with the hospital through the provision of a
full-fledged maternity block

Adding, that the magnificent maternity block would soon be handed over to the authorities early next year.
Already, MTN Ghana Foundation has impacted millions of lives e with over $13million as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the last 10 years in Ghana by building school blocks, libraries, and ICT centers, enhancing teaching capabilities, constructing and equipping hospital wards, paying tuition and supporting entrepreneurship

The MTN Foundation is an umbrella structure established within the MTN Group and charged with the responsibility of directing and managing the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities wherever MTN operates.

The Acting Clinical Coordinator and Emergency Medicine Specialist at Tema General Hospital, Dr. Lawrence Ofori – Boadu, who received the items on behalf of the Hospital and the nursing mothers commended MTN Ghana for their generosity and unflinching support over the years.
However, the beneficiaries who were highly elated hailed MTN Foundation for embarking on such benevolent exercise.
