The Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Service (GHS) in partnership with Better Ghana Management Service Limited have outdoored the cholera eradication task force which is in support of the president?s national sanitation task force initiative as a result of cholera outbreak in the country especially Accra capital, Chorkor and Bukom precisely.


The cholera eradication task force was outdoored to serve the purpose of education on hygiene.

The launch was embraced by all sanitation stakeholders and received by a lot of people from Accra to share views and opinion as per the cholera outbreak.

Meanwhile, the minister for health Hon Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin in outdooring the cholera eradication task force spoke on the theme ?a clean Ghana, a shared responsibility.?

The Ministry of health and the Ghana Health Service are deeply worried about the endemic nature of cholera in this country particularly in Accra, the unfortunate lost of lives due to this preventable hygienic and sanitation related disease is highly regrettable.

He used the opportunity on behalf of government and his own behalf to wish all those who have lost their lives or suffered as a result of cholera infection their largest condolences.

He signaled government?s commitment to eradicating cholera in this country.

?His Excellency the president of the republic of Ghana recently in a statement to the country reiterated government?s commitment to ensure total delivery of quality health care in the country and affirmed that health is the major priority of the country and this is the action point to realizing total health care for the people as government is to lead, government is to coordinate and harmonise individuals, the communities. We all have our respective roles to play.?

He reaffirmed that in building houses, they should not think of sleeping alone rather think about how they can access good water and drink in it?s hygienic nature since cholera is human?s enemy and a threat to human?s life.

He said it was incumbent on everybody to behave in such a way that they will prevent loosing their lives naturally since death through cholera is not a natural death.

He reflected on the behavioral of citizens on the earth, because it is important they keep on having such occasions in a routine faction which must face a lot of challenges.

According to him, they have established an eradicating cholera task force? to assist them in areas of poor sanitation menace which the ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, Ghana Health Service, Ministry of Health etc have done a lot to curb this menace.

Unfortunately, he said, as individuals, communities amongst others responses are not encouraging and that is why they have decided to organize and bring all stake holders on board so that they can move ahead to eradicate sanitation menace despite their promotional and educational effort, they believe that Better Ghana Management Service Limited (BGMSL) and zoomlion Management Services are very important in this direction and so they are calling on them to deploy manpower resources and logistics to all affected communities with the cholera outbreak.

He stressed that the Ministry of Health is directing all stakeholders with the health assistance led by the various management within the district, the effort of zoomlion to go from houses hospitals and communities to educate and change the habit of the people to live sanity lives.

Among dignitaries present were the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Odododiodoo constituency, Hon Nii Tackie Commey, the Assembly member for Kinka Hon Emmanuel Botwe and Sub-metro health directorate Dr Stella Gyamfi.

Others were Mr Jonas Amonor GA Regional Health Environmental officer, Robbert Kwaku Adjei representative from Zoomlion management services were all present to solidarity messages on the cholera outbreak and serve the community with much educational background on preventive measures regarding the dreaded disease (cholera).
