The project has been carried out by China Communication Construction Co. (CCCC) with a financial support from the Chinese Embassy in Ethiopia.

The embassy has been supporting the school over the past three years by making donations of office equipments and school materials.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador La noted that the modest contribution from his embassy would help facilitate the teaching and leaning at the school.

He states that China has built schools in different African countries and supported human resource development on the continent.

He added that the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) has been an important platform for enhancing cooperations between China and Africa in diverse areas, one of which is education.

“In early December in Johannesburg, the Chinese President is going to meet with African leaders to discuss how to expand our cooperations including the ones in human resource development and education,” he said.

The ambassador said he firmly believed that the upcoming FOCAC summit in South Africa would help elevate the friendly Sino-African relations to a higher level.

Expressing his gratitude for the Chinese Embassy in Ethiopia, Miskir Getachew, Principal of Tinbite Ermiyas Primary School said the help from the embassy has raised the school’s rank in the sub-city and contributed to its efforts in improving the quality of education. Enditem
