The Chinese company Chengdu Design and Research Institute of Building Materials Industry Co., Ltd. will transfer technology to Togolese people to assure the maintenance of the German Heidelberg cement group clinker plant, CDI chairman of the board said Friday.cement
The 5,000 tonnes per day clinker plant is built as part of cement production industrial complex of the amount of over 250 million U.S. dollars.
Delivered three months in advance, it has been inaugurated on Friday with a two-year period warrant.
“Over the two-year period warrant, CDI will train Togolese to conduct care and maintenance of the plant after contract ended,” CDI chairman of the board Jiao Feng said.
CDI has built within 28 months the clinker plant that provides 200 direct jobs and over 1,000 jobs indirectly in Yoto prefecture, about 90 km north-east of Lome.
“We must underline that twice more Togolese manpower than Chinese has been used for the construction and the outcome is the endeavor of both parties,” Jiao said.
He went on to underline that the cooperation between Togo and China has made easier the coexistence of both parties of manpower and will allow easy transfer of CDI technology in plant construction, care and maintenance. Enditem
