Three Chinese companies and the Chinese embassy in Ethiopia have collectively donated 60,000 U.S. dollars to a school feeding program in Ethiopia.

The donation was given on Tuesday in Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa to “Ye Enat Weg” Charitable Association chaired by Ethiopia’s first lady Roman Tesfaye which feeds around 21,300 school children in the capital.

Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia La Yifan said the embassy has been consistently donating modest sums to the school feeding program for the last two years.

La said that youth and children, regardless of their backgrounds, have equal right for education, noting that he was also pleased that Chinese companies consider themselves part of this country through their efforts. Enditem
