Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Tong Defa reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting African nations’ sustainable development through technology transfer and green cooperation during a meeting at the Africa-China Centre for Policy and Advisory (ACCPA) headquarters in Accra.
Ambassador Tong emphasized China’s leadership in eco-friendly modernization, offering to share technical expertise and clean energy solutions with African partners. The discussions aligned with key outcomes from the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit, where green development was established as a priority area for collaboration.
“China stands ready to share its latest advanced technologies with African countries,” stated Ambassador Tong, highlighting potential cooperation in renewable energy projects and sustainable resource management. The dialogue focused on practical pathways for Ghana and other African states to leverage Chinese innovations in their transition to low-carbon economies.
This engagement reflects growing Sino-African cooperation in climate-responsive development, as nations across the continent seek to balance economic growth with environmental sustainability. China’s proposed technology transfer framework aims to support local capacity building while addressing shared global challenges of climate change and sustainable industrialization.
The meeting also explored training initiatives to enhance African technical competencies in green technologies, underscoring the mutual benefits of South-South knowledge exchange. As African nations work toward their nationally determined contributions under the Paris Agreement, such partnerships could prove instrumental in accelerating clean energy adoption across the continent.
