Work has resumed on the 70-kilometre Nkwata-Oti-Damako road which forms part of the Eastern Corridor Road project.

The project being executed by the China Jiangxi International Corporation was awarded in September 2011 and was expected to be completed by November 2013 but the project has seen only 17 per cent.

The Minister of Road and Highways, Alhaji Inusah Fuseni after visiting the area last week said money had been paid according to certificate of works already done, as such the constructors had no reason to abandon work and gave a two-week ultimatum to the constructors to resume work.

The delay also prompted the Chief of Staff, Mr. Prosper Bani, to embark on a fact finding mission to the Eastern Corridor Road to ascertain the extent of work done.
