The chief and people of Beposo near Sekondi in the Western Region, have appealed to the Government to complete the Community-based Health Planning and Services(CHPS) Compound, started three years ago.

Mr Benjamin Kojo Kwarteng, a member of the Beposo Town Development committee, who made the appeal through Ghana News Agency at Beposo on Saturday, said the project started in 2012 and was abandoned without any reason.

He said when the project is completed it would serve more than 80,000 people, mostly farmers in the area.

According to him the absence of a health Post at Beposo to cater for the health needs of the people is a big challenge.

He said a number of appeals to the government to resume work on the project have not received attention.

Mr Kwarteng said the situation compels sick people from Beposo and the surrounding farming communities to travel long distances to Shama and Sekondi to seek medical attention.

He said the people are ready to provide communal labour for the completion of the CHPS Compound.
