Beat Liverpool 2-1 to level with the RedsArticle | By Yinka Ojo

The Di-Matteo-led Chelsea Football club beat their rival, Liverpool FC 2-1 at the Wembley Stadium to claim their 7th FA title and level with the Reds who have also won the title seven times.

Ramires opened, scoring for the blues at the 11th minute, while Didier Drogba made it a two goal lead at the 52nd minute, making him the first player in the history of the competition to score in four finals.

However, Liverpool turned the game around with the introduction of Andy Carol, who reduced the goal deficit in the 64th minute and had his controversial goal ruled out about ten minutes to the end of the match.

Chelsea have also qualified for the UEFA champions league final at the expense of the reigning champion, Barcelona.

The Blues have their hope of playing in the UEFA championship next season hinged on a win against Bayern Munich later in the month, as they sit sixth position on the premiership table.
