Jordan Opoku

Ghana CAF Champions League debutant Berekum Chelsea ended their campaign with a 1-0 win over TP Mazembe at the Accra Stadium yesterday.

Midfielder Jordan Opoku struck home the only goal of the game 12 minutes to the end of the game which results, apart from purposes of pride, meant nothing for the home side, having failed to qualify to the semi final.

The Emmanuel  Kyeremeh men, who conquered clubs like Raja Casablanca of Morocco, Coton Spot of Cameroun at the Group stage,  finished on nine points behind TP?s 10.

Despite failing to realize their semi final ambitions, the competition served as a springboard for players like Emmanuel Clottey, who scored 12 times to finish as the competition?s highest scorer.

His goal scoring prowess attracted the attention of many clubs from Europe, and the Gulf world to Africa and it was Tunisia?s Esperance that finally got the Ghana 2007 top striker?s signature for a three-year deal.

TP and Egyptian side Al-Ahly picked the semi final tickets in Group B.
