Speaking at the launch of this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) last Saturday at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Mrs. Theresa Ayaode, the Executive Director of the unwavering event house made an ardent appeal to all stakeholders to make this available in order to enhance event productions in the country.

She said “I plead with the government of Ghana to help build bigger event venues and in all parts of the country to make it beneficial to all.” Currently, the capital city – Accra where most national and international events are held can only boast of the National Theatre and Accra International Conference Centre with about 1500 and 1600 seating capacity respectively and the Dome with about 2500 capacity.

Faces present at this year’s launch were Deputy Information Minister Hon. James Agyenim Boateng, MUSIGA President Obour, ex-MUSIGA President Alhaji Sidiku Buari, VIP, Eazzy, Sarkodie, Naa Ashorkor, Ohemaa Mercy and other notable faces in the art and entertainment industry.

This year’s event will be held at the higher seating capacity grounds, the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, April 14, 2012.
