Former Ghana International, Abdul Razak, has heaped praises on goalkeeper Stephen Adams for his brilliant performances at the ongoing CHAN tournament in South Africa.

Rating him as the best player so far among the Stars ,and describing him as exceptional,? Razak said? but for the? superb and brilliant saves by Stephen Adams, the Black Stars would have been bundled out of the tournament by now.

?If he can propel Ghana to the finals of this competition with such form, he may catch the eye of the technical team of the senior national soccer team. I will encourage him to continue training well,? Razak told Graphic Sports in a telephone interview yesterday.

He said besides Stephen Adams,? Kwabena Adusei, Theophilous? Anobaah and Jordan Opoku? had also exhibited? artistic soccer? to keep Ghana? in the tournament.

?The strikers are yet to prove their worth because they have not taken advantage of the chances created so far. Scoring just three goals in three matches, including a penalty, is not the best for a tournament of this nature? he lamented.

Razak who was voted Africa best player in 1978 and a member of the 1978 Cup of Nations team which won the tournament hosted by Ghana said for the local Stars to reach the finals of the 2014 CHAN tournament, the strikers should play above average by converting? goal scoring opportunities that came their way.

?Yahaya Mohammed, Sulley Mohammed and Paul De-Vires Asare? who have been given the responsibilities to bang in the goals are yet to? prove their worth? in the tournament, and considering the performances of Nigeria, Mali and Libya, the Stars? have a tall mountain to climb if they want to progress to the finals? he warned.
