The Department of the Kerala Tourism will soon launch the campaign to the promote Bekal in the Kasaragod district and fame the 17th century fort here, with a target to develop it into the holiday of international hotspot by 2015. Campaign the know Bekal organized jointly by the Kerala tourism and the Bekal Resorts Development Corporation Limited is the targeted at an enhancing inflow of the national and the international tourists to place, said Anil Kumar, Tourism Minister government of the Kerala. 

Kerala Tour is one of the exotic and memorable tours in India. Kerala Tour is most famous for its backwater, exotic fauna and flora, temples and historical havelies and forts.

Campaign include the series of the programmes like road shows, tours for the travel professionals, open the theatres, sound and the light shows, setting up of the information kiosks at the major tourist destinations and the representing the Bekal in the global tourism trade fairs. 
Anil Kumar informed that to recover accessibility to the Bekal; airstrip is being schemed there at investment of the RS 100 crore.

A lot of the developments are coming-up in the Bekal. The foundation target of campaign is to the showcase rapid the transformation in and the around town, including the construction of the luxury resorts and the improvements in the transport infrastructure, said Anil Kumar.

Our aim is to the nearly double annual tourist inflow to the Bekal from current 3.2 lakhs to the 6 lakhs by the 2015, he said. Oommen Chandy, the Chief Minister of Kerala Government will launch the campaign on the 10 May, minister said.

Bekal Resorts Development Corporation authority tasked with the implementation of the project of Bekal Tourism, is planning to the develop 6 five star Luxury resorts in town by end of the year 2012.  
Constructed in the 1640 as defense post, sea facing Bekal Fort is centre of the tourist attraction of coastal town. Beside Bekal fort, we are too keen to the promote other tourist attractions of the Bekal such as its rich culture heritage, traditional fairs and the festivals, option of the aero sports and the water, said  I C Mahesh, Management Director of BRDC.
