The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has pushed the African Champions League, return leg match between Muculumano Dipotivo of Mozambique and Mafunzo of Zanzibar back to March 10.

The decision follows a request by Dipotivo to reschedule the match to a later date to pave way for the African Cup of Nations qualifier between Mozambique and Tanzania slated for February 29.

The Secretary of Mafunzo’s Sports Department, Makame Haji Fadau confirmed the club had received a letter from the continental football governing body informing them of the postponement of the fixture, which was initially scheduled for March 3. Mafunzo suffered a 2-0 defeat to Liga Muculmana of Mozambique in the first leg match played in Zanzibar last Sunday.

They will need to overcome the Mozambicans by three unanswered goals in the second leg to sail through into the next round, yet, Fadau expressed optimism over his team’s chances of overturning the deficit at the latter’s backyard.
