As the name depicts, this group have been formed, to solely and purposely champion the ideals and principles of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who we believe is the best man to lead the New Patriotic Party for the 2016 elections, and also the best man for Ghana after the elections are held. Before we proceed to the crux of why we called this statement, permit me to introduce the leadership of this organisation to you.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the main purpose why we called you here today is simple. God willing on the 6th?of June the New Patriotic Party will, hopefully, announce the opening nominations for the penultimate elections of our great party, which is the election of a Presidential Candidate for the 2016 elections.
We have concluded with the polling station, constituency, regional and national elections. What these series of elections have proved is that the NPP is well oiled and well prepared for victory in 2016, albeit with the small matter of electing a flagbearer and our various parliamentary candidates.
In as much as we have thrown in our support for the candidature of Nana Akufo-Addo, we want to place this on record. The unity of the NPP is paramount and no individual is greater than the NPP. If the NPP is to rescue Ghanaians from the hardships, despondency and chaos that the incompetence of President John Dramani Mahama and his NDC government have brought upon Ghanaians, it cannot be done through a fractured party.
The success of the party in playing its role as the custodian of democracy, rule of law, an open and free society in Ghana is as a result of the unity in the party. In view of this, we would like to urge our brothers and sisters who support other presidential aspirants to do so with decorum and circumspection. As aptly stated by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo:
?This is but a contest between members of one family, the Great Elephant family. We must, therefore, be guided and guarded constantly by an uncompromising sense of unity, fellowship and greater purpose. The NPP has always stood for competition and choice, and I am a firm believer in these principles. Just as delegates of our party have always done, they will, at the right time, choose the candidate who they believe will best serve the interests of the party going forward.?
Let us desist from any negative acts that could derail the party?s quest for victory in 2016, and more importantly divide and forever destroy the party.
We seek to warn all members of the party, who have begun casting slurs and trying to destroy the reputation of candidates in this contest that they will be crushed and will not survive this. We will not sit aloof and watch a bunch of greedy bastards destroy the party all in the name of their parochial interests. We will not attack their respective candidates but we will deal with their carriers of their messages.
Our forefathers have fought to bring the NPP to where it is now. It is incumbent on us, the youth of today, to ensure that what they fought for is not destroyed by a bunch of people who have no idea whatsoever about the toil that brought about the formation of this party.
The kind of negative campaigning in the run up to the Presidential primaries being employed by some candidates and their surrogates is totally alien to the traditions of the NPP. What they are succeeding in doing is arming our opponents, who will, through no fault of theirs, throw these accusations back at us. What is required at this juncture is the show of leadership, and we urge the various presidential aspirants to rein in their supporters who are engaged in this backward and crude methodology of marketing their leaders.
CONAA is calling for an issues based campaign devoid of smear tactics, blackmail, and backbiting. Let us project or sell the positive aspects of our various candidates to our delegates. We are very much interested in the competition of ideas.
We can humbly offer a free advice to all candidates to ?Go to the ground? ?Listen to the ground? and ?Assess the ground?. This is what we have done to come out with this group. We are determined to make sure delegates give Nana Akufo-Addo 90% of the total votes.
Ladies and gentlemen, you also hear people saying ?No Nana no vote? hence our slogan:- CONAA ? ?Obiaa se Nana? Our project code is ?President 7117? nothing more nothing less.
We also urge the leadership of the NPP to be up and doing and crack the whip at any person or group of persons who want to destroy the party by casting insults on our party leaders. The NPP is bigger than the ambitions of any one Presidential aspirant.
