A Businessman who allegedly misappropriated GHC35,820.00 being the proceeds of the sale of two vehicles and six boxes of soap belonging to another was on Monday put before an Accra Circuit Court.

Charged with stealing, Kwame Baah pleaded not guilty, and the court presided over by Mrs Harriet Jane Akweley Quaye, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of GHC50,000.00 with two sureties who are gainfully employed.

Baah is expected to reappear on January 16.

Prosecuting, Sergeant B. Benneh said the complainant Emmanuel Frimpong is a businessman domiciled in Denmark, whilst Baah is also a businessman residing at Dansoman in Accra.

In March last year, the complainant shipped a Hyundai III Bus and a Suzuki Alta Saloon car and six boxes of Dove soap all to the tune of GHC35,820.00 to Baah for sale.

Sergeant Benneh said Baah took possession of the items, sold all but failed to remit the proceeds to the complainant and went to into hiding.

Prosecution said all effort to trace Baah proved futile hence a report was made to the Police at Dansoman.

Baah was however smoked out from his hideout by the Police and in his caution statement admitted the offence and refunded GHC3,000.00 to the Police.
