However, the Eritrean rider is the winner of the 134 km long stage Pa-Bobo-Dioulasso, as he completed the distance in 3 hours 16 minutes and 50 seconds at the speed of 40.846 km per hour.

The French rider Vincent Graczyk came second and was followed by the Eritrean Kibrom Mehari who ranked third.

To date, three riders from Burkina Faso were sanctioned and excluded of the cycling race for non-compliance with rules of the competition.

The 29th edition of Faso International cycling race is 1334 km long, comprises ten stages and is scheduled to end on 6 November.

A total of 90 riders from 13 countries took the start, in the capital Ouagadougou on Friday.

They come from Europeans countries such as Germany, France, Belgium and the Netherlands, and African countries such as Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Mali, Togo, Congo, Algeria, Morocco and Eritrea. Enditem
