Burkina Faso coach Paul Put has mockingly revealed how he managed to push title holders Zambia out of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations at the group stage.

His revelation has shown Ghana how to defeat Zambia in their World Cup qualifier later this year after two unsuccessful attempts to defeat the Chipolopolo.

The defending champions were embarrassingly eliminated after a 0-0 draw against Burkina Faso in their final Group C game on Tuesday.

It is the first time the reigning champions have gone out in the group stage since Algeria in 1990, when there were four groups of three teams.

Zambia deserved no more than they got as they failed to produce anything like the form that took them to the title last year after three draws.

The stalemate with Zambia owed much to a dogged performance from Burkina Faso as they chose to flood the midfield and slow play down.

Stallions coach Paul Put acknowledged the tactics he used to frustrate the Zambians after the game in colloquial fashion.

?The ingredient for the day was more pepper than salt for the soup,? he said.

Zambia beat Ghana 1-0 twice last year which has kept the Black Stars chasing for a revenge against the Chipolopolo and the tip from Put will surely help the West African edge past Zambia.

Ghana will face Zambia in their World Cup qualifier likely to be played in Kumasi later this year.
