The Redeemed Christian Church of Good has expressed delight at the emergence of one of their pastors as the running mate of General Muhammadu Buhari.tweet

Both Buhari and Osibanjo are expected to contest under the platform of All Progressives Congress in the 2015 presidential election expected to hold by February.

Osibanjo emerged after consultations and meetings were held among APC governors, leaders and faithful.

RCCG jubilation was seen at the official twitter handle of the church.

The tweet at the handle also displays the picture of Osibanjo and has about 200 retweets when our correspondent visited it.

The church tweets, “Let somebody shout Halleluyah.”

Members of the church who were reached for comments said such comment was usually made for rejoice.

The tweets, however, received several comments like: “Halleluyah; Halleluyah to being a figure head?; everyone is a pawn in politics. Just make sure you don’t get taken; Amen; ”

A commentator with twitter handle @mister_Ld hinted that the General Overseer of the church, Enoch Adeboye had prepared the mind of Redeemers ahead of Osibanjo’s emergence.

He tweeted, “?Its inevitable. Adeboye would def sway the church in his favour. Night vigil Friday he told the church to get their Permanent Voters Card.”

Another person tweeted that Osibanjo’s selection would douse fear that APC is an Islamist party.

Some of them warned the church to stay away from politics. @T3official said, “@RCCGworldwide I respectfully ask that this handle should NOT be used for any political activity. PLEASE! Daddy G.O warned against it.”

Osibanjo was picked at the expense of Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, Governor Fashola of Lagos State among others.
