Britain’s Prince William will return to North Wales this week to work as an RAF search and rescue pilot now that his paternity leave has ended.

The 31-year-old royal will have to tear himself away from his two-week-old son Prince George and his wife Duchess Catherine and return to his RAF search and rescue job now that his paternity leave has come to an end.

The baby – who is third in line to the throne – will remain at Catherine’s parents’ home Michael and Carole Middleton in Bucklebury, Berkshire, with Catherine while William returns to Anglesey, North Wales.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Like any new dad, William is finding it difficult to imagine going back to work and leaving the new baby at home.

“However, he has known all along that he is entitled to the same as every other father, which is just two weeks’ leave.”

He has been given access to a private helicopter so he can easily fly between the Middletons’ ?4.7 million mansion and his base in North Wales to visit his newborn child.

However, William won’t be away for long since he is expected to quit his RAF position next month for a new military role.

He is rumoured to be joining the Household Calvary Blues and Royals Regiment at its Windsor or Knightsbridge barracks in order to have more flexibility to take on royal commitments.
