All the boxers and international officials on the bill for the Ghana @ 60 Freedom Fight Night have arrived safely in Ghana and undergone the mandatory weigh in successfully.

The fight come off at the new Bukom Boxing Arena, near Korle Bu and one of the expected special guests is President of Ghana Nana Addo Danquh Akufo Addo, a keen sports fan.

He has promised to come to the fight to motivate the three Ghanaian boxers fighting for the three World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver Titles.

The Freedom Fight night features Lightweight world title challenger, Richard Commey against Belgium’s Hedi Slimani, for the World Boxing Council (WBC) International Silver Lightweight Title.

Fredrick “General Okunka” Lawson will take on Jamaica’s Sakima Mullings for the WBC International Silver Welterweight Title and Bantamweight Prospect Duke “The Baby Faced Terminator” Micah will clash with tough Jonathan “El Fenix” Aguilar from Mexico in a 12-round bout for the WBC International Silver Bantamweight Title.

The weigh in was as usual very exciting with the fans singing and cheering as the boxers danced and showed gestures of victory.

Ghana’s Richard Commey and Belgium’s Hedi Slimani made their weight for Saturday’s clash. The two fighters completed their weigh-in with Slimani weighing 61kg against Commey also weighing 61kilograms

In the other weigh-ins, Frederick Lawson who will take on Jamaica’s Sakima Mullings in the vacant WBC international silver welterweight belt weighed 66kg and 66.3kg respectively.
Duke Micah weighed 52kg as against Johnathan Aguilar’s 53kg. The two will battle each other for the vacant WBC international bantamweight belt.

Mofaya Energy Drink distributers were also there massively to ginger the Ghana Boxing Supporters Union who have within a short time organized themselves and keep on increasing in membership as the fight date draws near.

Isaac Koumessina, PR and Communications Manager of the company said they have come to support the fans and the sport. He urged Ghanaians to try the new drink that revitalizes the body and makes on feel like going for another round.

He praised the organisers of the supporters, and the promoters, Street Wise who are working in collaboration with Errol Hawk Management to put up the international event.
The President of the African Boxing Union (ABU) said Ghana can revive the interest of boxing in Africa, and it is ideal that the fights are coming off in Accra because the people of Ghana love sports.
